One of the hottest topics in psychotherapy right now is psychedelic assisted therapy. Irony is this "leading edge" approach has a long history. It seems every 100 years or so we discover the importance of these drugs, and then forget about them.
Personally I'm cautiously optimistic about these drugs. I doubt they'll be the silver bullet many claim. However, I can't deny they massive impact they've had.
I guess what I'm saying it I think we should treat them as any other invention. Ever innovation brings with is positives and negatives. Psychedelics are no difference.
Or rather, the difference is, if we would study our history, we already know what the negatives and positives will be.
